Corona treating machine is used to treat the surface of plastic films, knitting and paper in order to allow improved wettability and adhesion of inks and the tension of surface. It has become one necessary pretreatment equipment for colorful printing and reuniting at present. This machine can be introduced together with printing machines and machines producing plastic films.

The corona treating machine applies high frequency and high pressure to the surface of the material, through the air gap, via a pair of electrodes. When because of the ionization of the air, it would produce some ozone, which can clear the oil and dirty effectively on the surface of plastic films. By this way, printing and coating quality can be improved.

What is corona treatment?

Corona is a visible electrical discharge which occurs when a high voltage, high frequency electrical potential is applied to a small diameter electrode in relatively close proximity to an electrical ground. The resulting electrical discharge is known as a "Corona Discharge". This corona discharge will cause partial ionization of the surrounding atmosphere and can be used for surface modification.

What material can I treat?
Both conductive and non-conductive materials can be treated. Most polymer based materials are easily treated including: PP, PE. HDPE, LDPE, PET, BOPP and many more.

How do I measure the treatment level ?
You can measure the surface energy or Dyne Level of your material by using of Dyne Test Pens.
